25 Jun A West 14th Original Print

West 14th’s interpretation of the arts influencing fashion was translated literally. We explored with the idea of paint and leather. We asked the question – How would paint work with leather? We investigated the centuries-old printing techniques and discovered the effects of using screen printing on leather. So we combined these two techniques – painting and printing.
We collaborated with an print artist to create an artwork that can translate the feeling of painting, brush strokes and geometric shapes. The artwork was created in a repeat pattern and printed onto leather panels before being constructed into styles. The end result is a black and white painterly print which uniquely belongs to West 14th.
